Ape Labs Tornado Description

The Ape Labs Tornado is a decorative lighting accessory that turns a compatible uplight into a large illuminated column. An Ape Labs Maxi 2+ or similarly sized fixture can be positioned inside the structure, allowing its light to fill the fabric cover and create a soft, glowing effect across the full height of the totem.

The column uses a spinnaker fabric cover similar to material used in sailboat construction. This lightweight material helps diffuse colored or white light while remaining water-repellent for indoor and outdoor event applications. The fabric is also flame-retardant according to the B1 standard, making it better suited for professional event, venue, and production environments.

A flexible carbon-fiber pole system supports the cover using a tent-style frame. Eight long poles, eight short poles, eight corner connectors, and a stainless-steel cross form the structure while keeping the assembled column lightweight and portable. When disassembled, the components fit inside the included nylon carrying bag.

The Tornado is ideal for wedding décor, venue entrances, stage edges, corporate events, trade shows, lounges, and architectural installations. Color changes, fades, MusikMode programs, and other effects produced by the fixture inside can illuminate the entire column, creating a larger visual presence without requiring a dedicated illuminated décor fixture.
