LD Systems MAUI 44 G3 SUB W Description
The LD Systems MAUI 44 G3 SUB W provides additional low-frequency reinforcement for the MAUI 44 G3 W column PA system. Its custom 15-inch neodymium woofer features a 4-inch voice coil and an airflow-optimized bass-reflex enclosure engineered to produce deep, precise bass while reducing turbulence and port noise. High-efficiency Class-D amplification and DynX Gen. 2 digital signal processing provide controlled low-frequency performance, while integrated limiting and overheating protection help maintain reliable operation. The extension subwoofer is suited for mobile DJs, live bands, event production companies, and sound reinforcement applications requiring additional bass output.
The MAUI 44 G3 SUB W offers two flexible system expansion configurations. For increased bass output, the extension subwoofer can be positioned facing forward alongside the main MAUI 44 G3 W system with the cardioid preset disabled. This arrangement can increase low-frequency sound pressure by up to 6 dB compared with the standard system. For greater bass directionality, the additional subwoofer can be positioned facing backward with its dedicated Cardioid preset activated. Working together with the main system's subwoofer, this configuration reduces unwanted rearward bass radiation while reinforcing low frequencies toward the audience, making it useful for live stages and acoustically challenging venues.
Integration is straightforward thanks to automatic FOLLOWER mode, which activates when no speaker column is connected. The extension subwoofer connects to the Sub-Out or System-Out of a compatible MAUI 44 G3 system using an XLR cable routed to the right input of the follower subwoofer. Its onboard DSP manages low-frequency processing and protection, while the 200 Hz crossover frequency supports integration with the system. This flexible design allows users to expand their existing PA without replacing the original system.
Built for professional transport and regular use, the MAUI 44 G3 SUB W features a rugged 18 mm birch multiplex enclosure with a durable white polyurea coating. Its shock-resistant steel front grille protects the woofer, while four ergonomic carrying handles make lifting, loading, and positioning easier. The enclosure matches the dimensions and appearance of the MAUI 44 G3 W subwoofer, providing a coordinated setup for weddings, corporate events, live performances, and professional installations.
