Obsidian NETRON FS16 Description

The Obsidian NETRON FS16 is engineered for live production, touring, broadcast, and permanent installation environments where reliable high-speed network distribution is essential. Its 12 locking Gigabit Ethernet connections provide robust copper networking, while four preconfigured fiber ports extend connectivity over longer distances and support high-bandwidth backbone applications.

The fiber configuration includes one 10Gbps multimode 850nm connection and three 1.25Gbps multimode 850nm connections, each specified for distances up to 300 meters. This combination makes the FS16 useful for linking front-of-house positions, stages, equipment racks, and other network locations in larger entertainment systems.

PoE and PoE+ support allow compatible devices to receive network data and power through a single Ethernet cable. The FS16 provides up to 30W per port with a total PoE power budget of 180W, making it especially useful for powering NETRON nodes and other PoE-compatible network hardware.

Four dedicated Network Selector and preset recall buttons on the front panel provide fast access to stored routing and configuration setups. This allows operators to rapidly switch between main and backup consoles, different front-of-house systems, or other predefined network configurations. Presets can also be recalled through an optional remote button station or the internal web interface.

A full-color OLED display and rotary encoder provide direct configuration from the front panel, while remote management is available through the internal webpage and NETRON Central Utility. The convection-cooled powder-coated aluminum chassis operates without cooling fans and fits into a standard 1U rack space for professional touring and installation applications.
