The sE Electronics X1 A 2C White combines versatile condenser microphone performance with a distinctive white-and-black finish. Its 2/3-inch back-electret condenser capsule uses a cardioid polar pattern to focus pickup toward the front of the microphone while providing a balanced sensitivity of 20 mV/Pa.

For loud sources, the switchable 20 dB attenuation pad increases maximum SPL handling from 130 dB to 150 dB. This makes the microphone suitable not only for vocals and acoustic instruments, but also for high-level sources such as drum kits, electric guitar cabinets, brass, and other close-miking applications.

A switchable 100 Hz low-cut filter with a 6 dB/octave slope helps reduce unwanted low-frequency rumble and excessive bass caused by close microphone positioning. The microphone's 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range also makes it useful for overheads, room recording, piano, orchestral instruments, strings, woodwinds, and acoustic guitar.
