The Swisson XES 8G is a professional 1U rackmount Gigabit Ethernet switch optimized for Art-Net, sACN, and Dante networks used in lighting, audio, and multimedia systems. Eight Neutrik etherCON RJ45 ports, non-blocking Layer 2 switching, and redundant internal power supplies make it well suited for theaters, touring productions, live events, installations, and other applications where dependable network distribution is critical.

Swisson XES 8G Description

The Swisson XES 8G is designed specifically for professional entertainment networks where standard Ethernet infrastructure must reliably carry lighting, audio, and multimedia data. Its eight Gigabit-capable etherCON ports provide secure network connections for consoles, lighting nodes, audio devices, media systems, and other Ethernet-enabled equipment.

The non-blocking Layer 2 switching architecture provides the bandwidth required for demanding real-time applications. Swisson has optimized the switch for Art-Net, sACN, and Dante, including four-queue DiffServ QoS for Dante and unrestricted broadcast traffic for protocols such as Art-Net. The switch also remains ready to forward data during periods of low network activity rather than entering a sleep state that could introduce additional forwarding delay.

For Dante systems, the XES 8G supports an estimated capacity of up to 128 channels in each direction at 48 kHz. Art-Net and sACN capacity exceeds 1000 simultaneous universes when the full network bandwidth is available to the application, giving lighting programmers and system designers substantial capacity for multi-universe control networks.

Reliability is strengthened by two separate internal power supplies. When both are connected, the primary supply operates the switch while the backup remains on standby and automatically takes over if the primary supply fails. A 19-inch, 1U rackmount format, Neutrik etherCON network connectors, and separate powerCON input and loop-through connections make the unit practical for touring racks, theaters, concert lighting systems, TV studios, theme parks, architectural lighting, and permanent installations.
