Allen & Heath Qu-5D Description
The Allen & Heath Qu-5D builds on the Qu series platform with updated hardware, modern workflow tools, and integrated Dante connectivity. Its 16 local mic/line combo inputs, stereo line inputs, 12 XLR outputs, AES3 output, and SLink expansion port make it suitable for bands, venues, corporate AV, houses of worship, education, and broadcast-style production.
At the center of the mixer is a 96 kHz XCVI processing core with 38 inputs to mix, 12 mixes, 4 mono/linkable matrix mixes, stereo LR output, and six stereo FX engines with dedicated returns. DEEP Processing readiness, RackExtra FX compatibility, automatic mic mixing, Gain Assistant, and Feedback Assistant help streamline setup while giving engineers detailed control over live mixes.
The Qu-5D is built for fast operation with a 7" capacitive touchscreen, 17 100 mm motorized faders, four customizable channel-strip layers, 8 assignable SoftKeys, chromatic channel meters, and remote app support. Whether used at front of house, in a rack, or as part of a larger Dante or SLink-based system, it provides a practical balance of tactile control and flexible digital routing.
For recording and playback, the Allen & Heath Qu-5D includes a 32x32 USB-C audio interface, SD-card multitrack recording and playback, and USB-A stereo recording/playback. This makes it useful for live multitrack capture, virtual soundcheck, rehearsal playback, streaming support, and post-production workflows.
