With zero programming required, a single button press effortlessly synchronizes all Ape Labs products in the room (regardless of SKU) to collaborate and create a constantly evolving light show perfectly timed to the music. This isn't the typical "sound active" mode you've seen before; it's a genuine light show that would challenge even a professional lighting designer to replicate through DMX programming.
DMX-Like Control via Grouping
Not a fan of DMX? No problem. While all Ape Labs lights come equipped with wireless DMX receivers, most users prefer controlling them with the intuitive iOS/Android app or RF remote. These control options allow for easy grouping, where multiple lights (regardless of SKU and with no limit on quantity) can be set to one of four groups. You can change colors, adjust brightness, set programs, tweak speed or strobe settings, and more—all without affecting lights in other groups. Additionally, you can control multiple groups simultaneously. With the app, you can create scenes that allow all groups to be independently set with just the press of a button. (To use the app, 'Connect' is required and is sold separately.)

Ape Labs Vega Solo Description
The Ape Labs Vega Solo introduces a new level of flexibility to portable event lighting by combining traditional floodlighting with sophisticated multipixel technology. Its 225 LEDs are organized into 25 independently controllable pixels, allowing lighting designers to create colorful animations, patterns, and alphanumeric displays. Multiple Vega fixtures can be arranged together to display words and other visual effects, making them useful for weddings, corporate events, stage productions, and decorative installations.
Beyond its pixel effects, the Vega functions as a powerful wide-angle LED wash light. RGBaW color mixing including dedicated 2700K warm white (amber-white) output provide extensive creative possibilities, while the 120-degree beam angle delivers broad illumination across walls, ceilings, and event spaces. With a CRI of 90 and an output of approximately 570 lux at 1 meter, the fixture is also suited for applications where natural-looking color reproduction matters. The included magnetic frost filter quickly transforms its visible pixel array into a softer, more uniform floodlight.
Designed around the Ape Labs wireless lighting ecosystem, the Vega supports control through compatible Ape Labs remote controls, the Ape Labs smartphone app, and wireless DMX. When paired with an optional Ape Labs CONNECT interface, users can access advanced app-based programming, individual pixel control, fixture grouping, and wireless DMX functionality. Four DMX modes provide flexibility ranging from simple RGBaW control to 100-channel individual pixel programming. Automatic signal repeating between compatible fixtures helps extend communication across larger installations. CONNECT and remote controls are sold separately.
Built for mobile entertainers and professional production environments, the Vega features an IP65-rated aluminum housing, silent fanless operation, and a replaceable 12V, 55Wh Ni-MH battery delivering approximately 12 hours of operation. A wide adjustable mounting yoke with a centered M10 mounting hole allows flexible positioning and attachment to compatible mounting hardware. Its dimensions and charging contacts are compatible with the Maxi 2.0 / Maxi 2+ TourBox system, allowing existing Ape Labs users to integrate Vega fixtures into their transport and charging setups.
The Vega also introduces alphanumeric character effects, allowing its pixels to display letters, numbers, and symbols. At launch, character selection is available as a beta feature, with individual characters configured through the app. Ape Labs has announced a planned December 2026 software update intended to simplify character selection and switching between pixel and character modes. Free software updates help expand functionality across compatible fixtures, CONNECT hardware, and smartphone applications.

APE LABS BUYING GUIDE
WHAT'S IN THE BOX? Ape Labs lights are sold in three popular forms:
- "SOLO" means you're only getting the light itself, without the remote or charger. Wireless control is essential for all Ape Labs products, and a charger of some sort is needed for all battery-powered fixtures. Therefore, "SOLO" purchases will require additional accessories that are not included in the package to use your light. However, the Ape Labs ApeRemote and/or Connect App can control an unlimited number of Ape Labs SKUs and are compatible with every product on the market. Similarly, the PSU and/or Super Charger will power/charge every Ape Labs mobile product. SKU-specific charging cases are also available. Reusing accessories for multiple lights can reduce investment costs. The Vega uses the same TourBox case as the Maxi 2 series.
- "SETS" (such as a "Set of 2" or "Set of 4") include the universal remote and enough power supplies charge all of the lights in the listed set. The package does not include a bag or case, though.
- "PACKS" (such as a "RoadPack" or "TourPack") include the universal remote, a case or bag, and a way to charge all fixtures. The Flight Cases have integrated power supplies built-in, so external power supplies aren't necessary. However, buying a "PACK" will always include a way to charge every fixture.
