Universal Audio Apollo Twin X Description

The Universal Audio Apollo Twin X brings the Apollo recording and mixing workflow to a compact desktop interface. Its Gen 2 converters operate at up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution, while the enhanced D/A section delivers 129dB dynamic range for detailed playback and critical monitoring through studio monitors or headphones.

Two Unison-enabled microphone preamps allow compatible UAD plug-ins to interact with the preamp stage for analog-style recording workflows. The interface also includes a Hi-Z instrument input, making it suitable for recording microphones, guitars, basses, synthesizers, and other studio sources. Optical Toslink connectivity supports ADAT or S/PDIF digital input for additional expansion.

DUO Core onboard DSP provides realtime UAD plug-in processing during recording and production. The Essentials+ edition includes a collection of UAD plug-ins, while the broader UAD platform provides access to more than 200 optional plug-ins for expanding the system as studio needs grow.

Apollo Twin X also functions as a desktop monitor controller, providing dedicated monitor outputs, alternate line outputs, a headphone output, alternate speaker switching, and integrated talkback. The updated UAD Console application adds workflow tools including Auto-Gain, Plug-In Scenes, subwoofer integration with Bass Management, and immersive audio support.

Apollo Monitor Correction powered by Sonarworks supports calibration of the main monitor and headphone outputs when used with the required compatible Sonarworks software and measurement hardware. For larger systems, Apollo Twin X can also be expanded with compatible Apollo interfaces, allowing the desktop unit to remain at the center of a growing recording setup.
